Shackleton 2015

In October 2015, one of the most ambitious polar expeditions ever attempted the first water to water crossing of Antarctica via the South Pole on foot - SHACKLETON 2015 LIVE!

The Anglo-Irish Expedition commemorated the 100th Anniversary of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s 1915 Imperial Trans-Antarctica Expedition, which whilst failing to complete the planned route, became famous as one of the greatest leadership, endurance and survival stories of all time, with all crew of Endurance, the expedition’s ship, being saved!

SHACKLETON 2015 LIVE! was a global communications platform designed to drive awareness of the climate change issues facing everyone, coinciding with the Paris 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in December 2015 - the team reaching the South Pole during the conference!

Stew & Devon and support team arrived at the South Pole on 15th January - a truly amazing achievement after 37 days and 4hours skiing!

Well done to all involved including all sponsors and supporters: Rab, Iridium, Ozone, Snow Rock, University of Surrey, Surrey Human Performance Institute, Genuine Guide Gear, Scheldebouw, Rovac, Asnes, The Alleyn Club, John Rose Eyecare, Baffin Polar Proven, Calidad, Clear Line, HM Fixing Services, Intuition (Custom Boot Liners), Loveld, Mal, powertraveller, Skyform, tvitec, Forty Below and Trafalgar Design.
