FC PILGRIMS WIN THE LEAGUE

Purple Tangerine sponsored youth football club F.C. Pilgrims have won the Ashford & District Youth League U11s Title following a 2-1 away win at Mersham today.

Pilgrims goal scorers were Darren Long who opened the account in the first half and Laurie Brandon who scored the winner in the second half. Mersham got one back in the dying seconds, but it was too late.

Pilgrims scored 100 goals in their 14-match campaign, which included 12 wins, one draw and only one loss.

Top scorers were the wingers Luke Maitland with 29 and Ollie Herd with 25. Keeper Kieran Jones had six clean sheets with only 16 hitting his net all season.

Based at Challock Playing Fields, the club takes children from Ashford and the surrounding villages of Charing, Molash, Pluckley, Egerton and Challock.
