FC PILGRIMS WIN TROPHY

Purple Tangerine sponsored youth football team F.C. Pilgrims U9s triumphed at Ashford Pitchside in January winning the U9s Brazilian Soccer Schools Ashford 10th Anniversary Tournament.

Up against three other Ashford & District Youth Football League sides: Mersham; Smeeth & Brabourne; and South Ashford, Pilgrims kept a clean sheet in each match.

The final against Smeeth & Brabourne ended in a nail biting 0 - 0 draw and went to the penalties - Pilgrims winning 2 - 1 with two penalty goals from captain Leo Jones and midfielder Osei Carter Liley.

Nigel Jones, Director of team sponsors Purple Tangerine and manager of the U9s team, says: Thank you to Brazilian Soccer Schools Ashford for putting on such a great tournament - we played four tough matches against some of the county’s best U9 players.

Based at Challock Playing Fields, the FC Pilgrims takes children from Ashford and the surrounding villages of Charing, Molash, Pluckley, Egerton and Challock.
